PURPOSE
The purpose of Audio Edit Scratch Academy, Inc, founded by DJ Phantom, is to provide skill training and instruction for rising artists in the DJ and music industries. Teaching his son, Terrell (AKA DJ T-Rell), who is a young successful DJ in his own right, inspired this project. Our community is full of talented youth, however, their talents often go undeveloped or unrecognized because they do not have a positive avenue in which to develop and expand them. With a concentration on developing self-esteem, setting positive goals and continued education, this is an opportunity to present the youth in our community, with an alternative to using their time in an unproductive or negative manner.
This project is about music in general, and we are dedicated to interpreting and translating the message in music. One of our goals is to counteract some of the negative messages that are sent through music today. When an artist’s lyrics contain a negative message, and that message is supported by catchy music or a video that is engaging, it serves to make their negative message more acceptable. We don’t use offensive or negative lyrics in our instruction or practice and we teach our students that music is a universal medium through which we can send a positive message.
Although originally the Scratch Academy was created with the younger generation in mind, we strongly encourage adults to enroll in the Scratch Academy. We invite men and women of any age to come and discover what we are about. If being a DJ is something you are interested in, and would like to pursue either as a hobby or as a career, we have programs to accommodate all skill levels. We offer continued education to professional DJs who would like to enhance their talent; and a professional DJ preparation program for those who are just getting started, but know they want to pursue the art of being a DJ.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Audio Edit Scratch Academy will provide services for all levels of DJ-ing:
Each session is based on each student’s individual needs. Training is provided in a real studio environment. The student will acquire hands on training, under the supervision of a professional, while fine-tuning their DJ-ing skills. Classes are designed for anyone age 12 and up. One-on-one private lessons will also be offered to anyone, of any age, who does not prefer the classroom environment.
